Bus
Bus line 801 runs between Arlanda Airport and central Uppsala throughout the day. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Timetable is accessible via UL website timetables bus 801
You can purchase tickets with a credit card on the bus, but cash is not accepted. There are also vending machines at Arlanda Airport’s terminals 2, 4 and 5 where you can buy a one way ticket for the bus (credit cards only). There is a small reduction on the price if you buy it from the vending machine in advance of the journey, compared to buying the ticket on board the bus.
Train
Trains leave Arlanda Airport for Uppsala Central Station directly from Sky City next to Terminal 5. The journey time is about 20 minutes.
Tickets may be purchased at the ticket desk in Sky City. Please note that an extra transit fee of 85 SEK must be paid at the ticket barrier, in order to leave or enter Sky City. Timetables and ticket fares
Taxi
Taxis leave from outside Arlanda Airport’s arrival hall. The journey time to Uppsala is about 30 minutes. The cost is approximately SEK 500. Free price setting applies to taxi rides in Sweden since the taxi market is deregulated. Choose the company and car that suit you best (there is no obligation to take the car that is first in line). Make sure to ask the driver for a fixed price in advance. You can pay by debit or credit card, or by cash. You can book your taxi in advance using the booking system available on the companies’ respective webpages.

Climate and Clothing
It is summer in Uppsala in June, but the temperatures can vary from +10 to +25°C. Please note there may be occasional showers.

Local Currency
The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK). Approximate value, Euro 1=SEK 11, USD 1=SEK 9, GBP 1=SEK 12.
Major credit cards like Visa and Master Card are accepted almost everywhere, also in small businesses. Some does even prefer card payment to cash. Local and regional buses are cash free, but accept Visa and Master Card with pin code.
There are several currency exchange offices and cash dispensers at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and in Uppsala. Exchange rates may vary. To see current exchange rates, please visit oanda.com.
Business hours & shopping
Shops are open between 10.00 and 18.00 hrs on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 on Saturdays. Shops in the city center have extended opening hours, some even on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs. Some major shops might be able to accept EUR, but in that case only bills, no coins. Exchange is returned in SEK.
Smoking policy
Sweden has a non-smoking policy, i.e. smoking is prohibited in public buildings, public transport, taxis, buses and trains. All hotel rooms are by default non-smoking.
Electricity
In Sweden the electrical voltage used is 220/230V.

The organisers are not liable for any claims for damages and/or losses if the entire conference has to be cancelled due to a force majeure incident.

Delegates are responsible for their own safety and belongings.
Insurance and Vaccinations
The registration fee does not cover insurance for the delegates. The organisers recommend that delegates take out insurance in their home country to cover pre-journey cancellation for personal reasons and necessary insurance to cover accidents, medical expenses and loss of personal belongings during the visit. No vaccinations are needed when visiting Sweden.
Passport and Visas
Delegates are advised to contact the nearest embassy, consulate or travel agency for information about the passport and visa requirements from their country for entry to Sweden.
